Colin Allred Condemns James Talarico's TikTok Comment as Racist and Sexist

Allred's response came after a viral TikTok video by Morgan Thompson, a political content creator, alleged that Talarico made the racist and sexist comment during a private conversation on January 12.

Allred, a rising star in the party, slammed Talarico for using a compliment to Black women to mask criticism of Black men, saying, 'We're tired of folks using praise for Black women to mask criticism for Black men. That's not good for our community.' He also accused Talarico of projecting insecurity about his campaign and derided his emphasis on his Christian faith.
Talarico, in a statement, acknowledged describing Allred's campaign methods as 'mediocre' but denied attacking him based on race. He expressed deep respect for Allred, despite their differences, and emphasized his commitment to his Black constituents.
Ali Zaidi, a former Texas House staffer for Talarico, called the allegation 'both in substance and in form so out of norm for who Rep. Talarico is.' The incident has sparked a growing wave of negative content surrounding Talarico, with Zaidi expressing disappointment over the conduct of the primary.
Allred's video also addressed young Black men aspiring to leadership roles, encouraging them to recognize and appreciate those who reveal their true selves, regardless of criticism. He emphasized the importance of transparency and authenticity in leadership.
